For once I’m actually going on a diet not specifically to lose weight (although I wouldn’t cry If I did 😉 ) not it’s actually for health reasons. The alkaline diet got it’s break through 1 year ago when Victoria Beckham tweeted about it. Many doctors recommend their patients to go on it for various reasons. It’s good for preventing cancer, digestive system, acne, inflammations etc.
What is the alkaline diet?
The aim is to keep your PH level on a certain level, to be precise at about 7.35. When we eat certain food they become acidy or alkaline in our bodies, shifting the PH level completely. The worst foods become extremely acidy and your PH level drops. This diet consist of eating food that is only alkaline or turn alkaline inside to remain on a good level.
So what can you eat?
No meat, no fish, no dairy products (milk, eggs, cheese etc), no alcohol/cigarettes/coffee/tea/sodas, no sugar, no wheat, no this and no that. Haha it sounds really depressing but I see it as a great challenge. The diet consist mainly of Vegetables, fruits, some carbs like quinoa & lentils. Here is a full list of what you can and cannot eat.
I’m going to give it 2 months and review it, so after I will get back to you and tell you if it really worked or not. Somehow I already managed to pass week 1. Halleluja! 🙂 To be continued…
