London’s Best Restaurants For Luxury And Jet-Setters

What to do if you’re planning to visit London but have no idea where to go? You love fine dining, jet-setters, and classy interior, but not sure where the trendiest hot spots are?

Thankfully, you have me who can guide you!
I’m a Londoner and restaurant savvy in this town, as one of my favorite activities is trying new places and studying Michelin guides.

In this post, I want to give you a cheat sheet for your next trip to London. Book yourself a visit to any of these restaurants, and you’ll be sure to get some jet-set fun! But one thing I need to tell you. This list is based only on popularity and in no particular order. The focus is on where the jet-setters gather and not so much about the food itself. It’s more about the crowd and the name, although some of these restaurants have excellent food! I know because I’ve tried them all, and not only once!

For simplicity, I have excluded 5-star hotels and private members club restaurants.

La Petite Maison – Mayfair

Food? French and the food is amazing!
Ambience? A bit crowded and loud but still very stylish place. There is a classy atmosphere, and a must visit for jet-setters!
Lunch or dinner place? You can do both, but I prefer it for lunch.
Can you stop by only for a drink? Not really, their bar is tiny, and it’s not that kind of place.
54 Brook’s Mews, Mayfair –

Isabel – Mayfair

Food? The food is only “okay” in my opinion, European cuisine
Ambience? Beautiful interior and a trendy Mayfair crowd, a place worth stopping by!
Lunch or dinner place? You can do both, but I would say it’s a dinner place.
Can you stop by only for a drink? Yes, they have two nice bars, one downstairs and one upstairs. Thursday is their most popular night with DJ and party vibe.
26 Albermarle street, Mayfair –

Cipriani “C London” – Mayfair

Food? Italian, quite good! Popular for their veal ragu pasta and lemon meringue cake.
Ambience? Classy Italian decor with a beautiful crowd. Great for people watching!
Lunch or dinner place? You can do both, but I prefer dinner!
Can you stop by only for a drink? They have a small bar, but I wouldn’t go there only for a drink.
23/25 Davies street, Mayfair –

Zuma – Knightsbridge

Novikov – Mayfair

Food? They have two restaurants under one roof, one Asian and one Italian, both of good quality.
Ambience? Perhaps not the classiest place in London, but always busy in the evenings. The crowd is mainly from UAE.
Lunch or dinner place? More of a dinner and drinks place
Can you stop by only for a drink? Yes, they have two bars, one downstairs that turns in to a club.

Coya – Piccadilly

Delicious Peruvian food
Ambience? Cozy and creative interior, young and trendy crowd
Lunch or dinner place? Mostly dinner, you can come here for lunch too, but it’s very quiet.

Lunch or dinner place? It’s more of a dinner place, although they are open for lunch too

Modern Chinese, in my opinion, the food is only so-so
Ambience? Stunning interior, cozy and glamorous. As a bonus, Park Chinois has a live band, DJ, and cabaret shows every evening.
Lunch or dinner place? Dinner, as that’s when all the action happens!
Can you stop by only for a drink? Yes, they have two bars, and it’s worth coming over as the place is beautiful.
17 Berkley street, Mayfair –

Chiltern Firehouse – Marylebone

Food? American fusion that used to be of exceptional standard but rumors say it’s not the same anymore.
Ambience? Beautiful, cozy place where you get to see celebrities and a mixed jet-set crowd.
Lunch or dinner place? Brunch, lunch or dinner! Chiltern is great to visit at any time of the day. Evenings tend to get very busy and open until late.
Can you stop by only for a drink? Yes, you can, but if you come late and don’t have contacts, it can be tricky to get in.

  1. I should have read this before visiting Isabels during lunch time on a weekday. It was about 2pm and the place was empty. I didn’t go for the crowd necessarily (it was a business lunch m) but would have been nice not to have been the only ones there lol!!

By the way, which of the above places if any do you recommend to visit alone? In some places it feels awkward to go alone. Thanks Xx

    • Oh poor you! You should see it in the evening, it’s very happening!
To go alone for dining, I would recommend Scott’s or Zuma because they have counters where you can sit, as sitting my a table for two may feel a bit exposing. 🙂
