Let’s Indulge In Some Classy Shoes

Let’s talk about footwear my dear JetsetBabes. I wanted to post a few comments on some models and brands that I’ve been thinking about lately.

Saint Laurent “Amber”

This Saint Laurent stiletto has been extremely popular with the JetsetBabes for a while. It’s not a new kid on the block, but definitely, one that has been used quite a lot. Anyone who owns this shoe and can give a brief review?

It doesn’t look very comfortable to me, but it sure makes the legs look longer with its minimal design.

The good thing about this shoe is that it’s easy to wear with almost anything. All kinds of colors, all kinds of outfits. Perhaps that’s the reason why I keep seeing it everywhere?! One thing is for sure though, you’ll need to have beautiful feet to be able to pull this one off, as they are very revealing and minimalistic!

Manolo Blahnik “Hangisi”
(and other satin shoes like Roger Vivier, etc.)

How many of these types of images have we not seen on Instagram, Tumblr, etc., the Cinderella type shoes made out of satin?! It’s like candy to the eye, but in real life, I don’t think that they are very user-friendly. Or can someone who owns a pair tell me? (The black only perhaps!)

Shoes out of satin are probably the worst to invest your money in as they have a lifespan of approximately one-time wear.

Especially if they are light in color; one tiny stain or scratch, and the shoe looks too scruffy to use.

I understand most women get this shoe for weddings or special occasions. But it’s just such a shame, because they are so pretty to look at, but have too short of a lifespan to even qualify as a good dinner shoe.

3 Shoe Brands That I Like At The Moment:

Christian Louboutin

This brand has got a bit of a bad rep in the last 3-4 years due to everyone wearing them, so the red soles stopped feeling as exclusive as in the past.

Regardless, I’m a big fan of Louboutin’s because I find many of the shoes to be quite comfortable for my type of foot and they are always updating their collections, adding new styles, keeping their brand very interesting.

Additionally, I love simple, classic shoes, and in my opinion, Louboutin does them the best. If you are looking for a simple black pumps, going to competitive brands like Jimmy Choo, etc., you just won’t find a shoe to be as elegant as made by Louboutin.

Their sandals have become a big hit in the last year, everyone, including myself, wearing them in different styles. I love the beige ones especially, as they make your legs look long yet still look interesting with its cute design.

But I’m not going to lie, in my opinion, it’s not the most comfortable shoe, but maybe that’s because I don’t have high arches á la Victoria Silvstedt (she keeps wearing them all the time!)

Even though, the beautiful design of the sky-high heels makes your feet look beautiful, even if you have complicated feet like myself (flat foot problems.)

Not yet in my possession, but this Chanel vintage shoe trend has got me very interested. Everyone has been seen in this super trendy shoe, but there are many variations to it. I do love this design, with the black toe and beige around, making it a shoe that will last!

The good thing about Chanel is that they produce a lot of footwear, there is always something new in their store to try, so I love the fact that the collections are always updated. The minus is however that they easy get sold out and hard to find certain models if you don’t live near their best stores or have good relations with their sales assistants. But luckily, it’s easy to score pre-owned.

What shoes do you like at the moment? Any brands in particular that are on everyone’s lips that we should discuss? (Don’t mention Valentino stud shoes though… Kind of tired of seeing them now!)

  1. Hi Anna! I love your blog since i am young. Now i am 24 and i can tell you thanks! Because i learned a lot about your posts. I bought in Paris the fist shoes, Ysl Amber and i confirm you that even if they are elegant, classy and super easy to combine with outfits, it is a very uncomfortable pair of shoes. For a dinner or a party, it is very difficult to walk with them. Anyway for special ocassions i make an effort to have nice legs all night! Keep posting like you do, i am sure we are a lot of fans of this blog out there!

    • Thank you lucy! That’s a sweet comment! I’m happy they have been of benefit! <3 <3
With regards to the YSL shoes, they look uncomfortable, but thanks for confirming!

  2. I’ve always been told that YSL heels are VERY comfortable, when there is a sample sale or high end department store sale those are the first to go!
