How To Get Glowing Skin
Let’s clear the basics first:
I always give the same answer: Diet, Diet, Diet.
There is just no other way around it!
This is the basics to your canvas: Your diet is holding the hand of your skin. Together they are walking this path even when you come and sabotage yourself with poor lifestyle choices and an unhealthy diet. The skin absorbs the toxins immediately. The liver takes the first hit, then goes to your beautiful canvas where the liver dumps everything it cannot deal with (which is a lot).
The variations of the “ugly art” on your canvas can vary. Some get acne, some change their skin tone to a grey dullish tone. Some get skin disorders they later treat with heavy treatments and chemical creams. And so on… There are many creative ways to how one does not have beautiful skin, but the reason is always the same:
Diet, Lifestyle choices, and Hormones.
But when you fix your diet, you tend to fix everything else too. It’s like a domino effect.

Do a green detox. Cut out sugar and starches for a few days or weeks. Try the candida cleanse. Or the alkaline diet. There are many different programs you can do. I always find the Raw Food Diet to be the most beneficial for beautiful skin.
I will give you a challenge. Eat Raw Food for 10-14 days as an experiment (focus on everything green: green vegetables, green smoothies, little or no sugars/natural sugars) and you will be surprised how you’ll be able to transform your skin in no time! You will have a glow, your skin will clear up from acne (unless you have severe hormonal acne) and you will look super fresh.
Everyone I’ve spoken to who have done this detox, says the same. Their skin has never looked better! That’s because ladies; The diet plays a HUGE role, it’s crazy! Go and spend all your money on the farmers market instead of wasting it on heavily overpriced creams that anyway don’t work (Hello La Prairie or La Mer, among others!).
But I know, it’s more comfortable to eat rubbish and spend $$$ on something that you think will help you (but doesn’t). Humans in a nutshell!
So that’s the basics, but what about the technical bits that I assume you find more interesting? I’m talking about the actual skincare routine and treatments you can do at home to get that skin to start glowing.
Yes, you can achieve fantastic skin if you have a diet that consists mainly of healthy foods (but not 100% perfect diet… Cause let’s be honest here… Very few people will just jump the ship now and change their diet overnight). So I will give you a few more steps that will help you get that glow while you’re working with your diet simultaneously.
#2 Your Secret Weapon: This Exfoliation Technique
How to get glowing skin without having to spend on expensive beauty treatments.
Here is how: Weekly exfoliation at home.
I’m talking 1-3 times a week, depending on your skin type. Women with sensitive skin type should do it maximum once a week. Ladies with thicker or more problematic skin can do it more often, an ideal number is twice a week.
I don’t think exfoliating too often is any good, you’re just doing the skin harm by striping it off all its essential oils. I’ve come across people who trigger their acne to appear when they exfoliate too often, as the face starts producing double the amount of sebum when losing its essential oils. Don’t do this mistake!
The Exfoliation Technique:
▸ Wash your face as usual with your face wash.
▸ Get a Konjac sponge or any exfoliating sponge.
▸ Take your dry sponge and start peeling and exfoliating your face.
▸ After the exfoliation is done; take your best toner and wipe your face with.
I can confidently say Biologique Recherche P50 is the best toner I’ve ever tried! It’s not sold online, but only from high-end reputable salons. But I also use Pixi Glow Tonic which I think works exceptionally well for achieving that glow and clearing up your skin (without costing much while being a 100% cruelty-free product!).
#3 How To Get Glowing Skin Immediately After This Step!
You have successfully exfoliated your skin and cleaned with tonic water. Now is the time to apply all the nutrients!
▸ Apply a highly moisturizing face mask for the optimal glow effect.
I know one that gives everyone I see loads of glow, and that is: The hydrating mask from SkinCeuticals.
▸ Leave it on for like 30 minutes, even though on the package it says 15. (Always go over time with your hydrating masks!)
▸ Once you’ve removed it, it’s time to apply your serum and your day/night time moisturizer.

Lastly, I will briefly mention the beauty treatments I think works best for when you want to get that glow! There are many treatments out there, and it can be overwhelming not knowing which one is the best and most suited for your needs.
“The Vampire Facial” PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Facial
PRP is taken from your blood and either applied to your face or injected into your skin. The skin becomes stimulated to produce more collagen, and gets a beautiful glow looking very rejuvenated. Kim Kardashian made this treatment famous some years ago, but today it’s one of those “must-try” treatments as the results are incredible. You will be guaranteed glow after this! Loads of glow!
Micro Needling (Collagen Induction Therapy)
Medical micro needling is done with a professional who will use a machine with small needles, piercing your skin to stimulate collagen production. You generate new, fresh and thicker skin, which look plumper and more youthful. This treatment is recommended to do approx 3 times and you will be glowing already after the first treatment. Once you’ve done your course of 3 treatments, you only need to do this treatment once a year to keep the results last.
The results are amazing though. Microneedling helps for all kinds of issues not only dull skin. It reduces acne scars, pigmentation, and wrinkles. A must do after the age of 30!
