The more we consume, the more we should act responsibly regarding how our consumption is affecting others. My heart has always been for animal rights. I know that these innocent creatures are taking the biggest hit, getting all abused because of the human ego, simply because they are not able to defend themselves. Thinking about it, I just want to cry. But I’m also a selfish human, trying to become less selfish the older I become…

Like most women on this earth, I love beauty and makeup. But to feel that I’m true to my values, I’ve decided to stop using beauty products and cosmetics of brands that test on animals. I decided this a few years back, but the transition has been taking some time. Mainly, it’s been a new world opening up for me, with brands I’m unfamiliar with, and it takes time to try out products that will replace my old time favorites.

On my Youtube Channel, I’m going to share with you in dept, my favorite makeup products that are all cruelty-free. But in today’s post, I want to talk about the brands I’ve discovered that make luxury makeup of high quality, without the bad karma like animal testing. On top of it, they’re all my new favorites! For this reason, I feel I can now switch fully to them, without feeling that I have to compromise on my looks. It becomes a win/win situation, and it’s something I want to promote to all of you, especially if you share similar values.

Let me present my Top 5 high-end luxury makeup brands that do not test on animals:

(In no particular order)

1. Jane Iredale

5 High-end Cruelty-Free Make Up Brands

This brand has been recommended worldwide by dermatologists and plastic surgeons. I came in contact with Jane Iredale’s products five years ago, on the peak of my adult acne days. My skin was so messed up; there was no foundation, primer, concealer I could use from the mainstream brands without getting more pimples (they often occurred within a few hours of application). Until I tried Jane Iredale.

These products are famous for being ultra clean, giving me the ability to use coverage that wasn’t contributing to additional breakouts! I was using their mineral powder, bronzer, blusher, primer, and concealer – all giving me the necessary coverage I needed for my cystic acne, without making it worse…

2. Charlotte Tilbury

5 High-end Cruelty-Free Make Up Brands

I have faith in buying makeup from makeup artists, so it was given for me to try Charlotte Tilbury makeup line, as she is world famous in her line of work. So far I must say I really like this brand. The quality is of an extremely high level, and the products are great! I’ve tried the day cream, bronzer, lipstick, concealer, foundation and I will admit, Charlotte Tilbury is one of my favorite makeup brands of all times! So happy it’s cruelty-free so that I can keep on using it!

3. Hourglass

5 High-end Cruelty-Free Make Up Brands

Another high-end brand that is 100% cruelty-free. Many of their products are also paraben-free and vegan, which is great for “Hippie in heels” types of girls like me who want to use a brand that feels very upscale. I’m still trying out loads of products from this brand, but some of the things that I’ve fallen in love with is their foundation brush, primer, foundation, and lipstick. I will be back with a more full-blown report!

4. Chantecaille

5 High-end Cruelty-Free Make Up Brands

A botanical skincare brand that also does amazing makeup! This brand is luxurious and has got a very classy feel to it (well if you check out the family who is behind this company, you’ll certainly get a jet-set vibe).

I’m currently in the process of discovering more of this brand. So far I only own a few lipsticks and eyeshadows, but eager to try their skincare and all makeup products. I’ve seen this JetsetBabe on Instagram, that she only uses their cosmetics, so it seems promising! I’m just very happy that we have a cruelty-free brand of this high-standard that even the poshest JetsetBabes can adapt to.

5. Marc Jacobs Beauty

5 High-end Cruelty-Free Make Up Brands

This new and upcoming makeup brand that has been very popular with all the beauty bloggers – is actually 100% cruelty-free! I’m really excited about that because I’ve tried the famous foundation and it’s definitely something to write home about. I haven’t tried more, but it’s in the pipeline for me, so I can’t wait to share with you in my future posts!

Four brands I have to say goodbye to:

NARS, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Bare Minerals – I loved you all, but you’re no longer 100% cruelty-free as back in the days. These companies are now owned by companies that do testing on animals, and also sell in China (where you must test on animals to get permitted to sell). Such a shame!

Four brands 100% cruelty-free that I’m looking forward to discovering:

Kat Von D, Illamasqua, By Terry, Cover FX.

  1. Anna, you should check out Lydia Elise Millen on YouTube! She is a huge fan of By Terry and uses their products all the time. The head make up artist even did her wedding makeup 😊

  2. I love Charlotte Tilbury too!! I’ve a beauty question…what do you think about microblading for brows? All JSB have amazing and full brows

    • I think microblading looks amazing if done at a good professional. I’ve seen many bad ones, but I’ve also seen many good and natural ones. What I’ve seen on the JetsetBabes on Instagram, many seem to do it.
