Chanel’s Art School Backpack

Seriously, what are YOUR thoughts?

I think it’s horrendous. Sorry for being honest, but I don’t understand why every other Jetset Babe on Instagram are posing themselves with this bag?  Sure, it’s the “it bag of Spring 2014 collection” so hopefully it’s soon vanishes, but I can tell you I’m not a fan as you might hear 🙂 In that case I prefer their last years Hulahoop bag 😉

Price for Chanel’s Art School Backpack is:

£2,000

€2,500

  1. i hate it-so ugly. don’t car if it’s chanel. some girls would wear anything with a label-doesn’t matter ugly or not.

  2. Chanelley xo on

I absolutely HAAAAAAAAAATE this stupid bag aaaarrrrrgggghhhhh!!! It drives me crazy and girls are still wearing it, not to mention so many cheap made in China knockoffs are out there. I wish Chanel would bring back the classic quilted backpack.

  3. Some people collect art, others collect limited edition handbags.

I just bought one of these, not because of the ” pretty vs ugly” factor, but because it’s the first of a few, a slight detour in the house of Chanel and a statement regarding the era of time in which is made.

They only made enough for the models in the spring 2014 runway show. They are limited which makes them collectible, no backpack is the same so each piece is unique and one of kind.

So, much like art, it increases in value over time (as long as you don’t wear it) of course. I showcase them in encased displays. I have a handbag collection (display) that starts from the 1950’s. 🙂

Being in the fashion industry, it was a breath of fresh air to see art return to the 2014 runway, especially after the economy took a bite out of the last 5 years. Chanel’s detour to art school was very literal and ill leave it at or I would be here typing a small novel.. I love that they broken their chains and continue to take risks outside of their classics. Who doesn’t love the traditional quilted bag???
