Brunch is one of my favorite kids of outings, especially with my elegant female friends. And if you’re on your leveling-up journey, it could be one of the best ways to practice your styling, grooming, makeup, networking, and etiquette skills! If you need extra help, you can get on the A-List Group and meet other women on their transformation journeys to go to brunch together. So, in this post, I want to give you some five simple brunch outfit ideas to work with.
#1 – Matching Sets
I love matching sets for several reasons. First of all, they help you take advantage color blocking, which can make you look effortlessly chic. Secondly, you can easily dress them up or down, depending on the venue and occasion. For example, you can wear them with kitten heels and a beautiful designer handbag to dress them up. Or you can try wedges and a beach bag to dress them down for a beach brunch. Thirdly, they give you more room to play with accessories and accents.
#2 – Shirt Dress
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m obsessed with shirt dresses. They are really classy and you can find great quality ones for very affordable prices. I use the one I got from my Massimo Dutti haul all the time. You can add a belt or hat to accentuate the style, and you can get them in different colors.
#3 – Elevated Casual
Going somewhere more casual or outdoorsy? Then you can be a bit more toned-down with your brunch outfit. But, as an elegant woman, you want to look well put together and somewhat elevated. You can do that by adopting a more preppy, old money style. Tennis skirts, polo shirts, cashmere sweaters around the shoulder, mid-length shorts, boat shoes, blazers with sleeves rolled up. The options are endless, but if you coordinate the pieces and colors well, you’ll still stand out from the crowd.
#4 – Workwear With A Flare
If you’re going to a work brunch, or even to brunch with friends but during your workday, then you’ll likely stay with your workwear. But, instead of going exactly the way you look in the office, you might want to add something to make your brunch date outfit a little more interesting. A colorful silk scarf will heighten a dark suit. A nice lipstick and big sunglasses will give you that extra something. Use a really nice work bag that day that easily translates from office to brunch.
#5 – Linen, Linen, Linen
Linen is one of the classiest materials out there. It makes even the simplest items look expensive and high quality. And, unlike any other material out there, it actually looks good when it creases, so you don’t have to constantly worry about steaming it. Any of the above mentioned styles can work in linen. A linen shirt dress, a linen shirt with your preppy outfit, a linen shirt with your work pants, a linen matching set. If you need spring or summer brunch outfit inspo, look no further than linen.
