  1. Why, oh why, oh why do ladies do this? It never looks natural, feminine or heaven forbid, lady like.

I view rather simply. If someone needs *likes* to make one feel better, it is a rather sad place to be. It is a faux high which quickly escalates and the crash is momentous.

It is better to not and depend on such things as it *wires* thoughts for that next fix as if its own drug. Then one gets depressed. Not a good place to reside.

It is far better to work on building one’s character than to tear down others.

I tend to grow curious when there is no signal around for the phone, how people really begin to act.

Think about it. How would one act?

  2. To the ‘expert’-What is your background enabling you to be an elegance expert? The advice seems obvious and de trop. It also seems rather relative as I think, ‘less is more’ and elegance comes from within-as an example, a lady of breeding would never present herself with long curly hair brought to the front as you do in one of your videos-I’m not being rude as you are beautiful, but that is not seen as traditionally elegant and although I can’t abide this word, but it’s not ‘classy’. As Basil said to Sybil in Fawlty Towers, “specialised subject…state the bleeding obvious.” Ultimately, it’s what’s inside that counts and, “be who you are and say what you feel as the people who matter don’t mind, and the people who mind don’t matter.” Ultimately, the last quote must go to the great man himself…Einstein…
“If most of us are ashamed of shabby clothes and shoddy furniture let us be more ashamed of shabby ideas and shoddy philosophies. It would be a sad situation if the wrapper were better than the meat wrapped inside it.” Though he was a vegetarian and would certainly be a vegan now. Third world problems people. Syria people. Children in conflict people! People just get a grip and remember-it’s not what you gained but what did you give? That’s the question to ask as your life progresses to its end.

  3. I’m going to defend Anna. I’m not looking to “level-up” per-se, but I do appreciate Anna’s goal of helping people become more civilized through self-improvement – and she has a lovely aesthetic. I read her blog out of curiosity and entertainment, to be honest. However, to say, “a lady of breeding would never present herself with long curly hair brought to the front” is ludicrous. To be frank, it is pretty difficult to look the epitome of elegance all the time, it’s okay to be human. Personally, I don’t care to be around people who role-play. If someone is from a different background, I appreciate when they own it as part of their story even if it’s not where they are today. The people insulting Anna are unfair, she’s trying to help those who want to help themselves. Self-improvement should be lauded regardless of “class” or “breeding” and she is just sharing her own preferences. People are people; people of good character and grace will always do well.

    • Anna’s work is appreciated by many ladies. I think if you do not appreciate the content she shares, then elegantly ignore and move on.

  4. Dorothea Parker on

Anna- you are living in the wrong century- your advice would resonate with Madame de Pompadour or Du Barry- courtesans who attached themselves to the rich and powerful. However, thanks to another post, I now know exactly why Hermes bags are on the wish lists of women on the make.

  5. It’s a free world…
In case you don’t agree with her then gently walk away…
    What’s up with people 🤷🤦
