Mild Adult Acne Prone Skin

Guys, I really need your help on this one.

I don’t know what to do anymore with my skin, it’s been a complete disaster since October. I’ve suffer unfortunately from Acne prone skin, but my skin is usually very good during summer period, but terrible in winter.

I’m not being able to get rid of my pimples. They keep returning no matter how good I treat my skin, take care of myself or keep a healthy diet/lifestyle. I’ve been to a doctor, but they don’t want to prescribe me any medication like Accutane because it’s only for people with severe Acne and my Acne is mild. Sure thing, but it’s still a problem for me.

I’ve tried the gels and cremes like Differin given from my doctor, but it does not help. It just dries my skin out and I know the acne is not only because of the surface of the skin. It’s coming from hormonal side. I’ve also tried taking contraceptive pills to get the hormones in balance, but no that doesn’t help either 🙁

So I don’t know what to do.
Where can I find a doctor who would give me Accutane?
Is there anything else beside Accutane that could WORK for people with mild acne? I want to get rid of this Acne forever! I need to find some suitable medication.

Maybe anyone of my UK readers know of a good dermatologist in London?

Any advice are highly appreciated! Many thanks!

Not so perfect skin :(

Perfect skin

Grrr…. I’m so annoyed with myself. I’ve got really bad skin at the moment, it’s a complete mess. (Thanks to a little bit too much partying last weekend). I have to take better care of myself, but because of summer it’s been hard to keep up with all the routines. So now I just want to stick my head in to the ground like an ostrich so that nobody can see the pimples that are having some kind of reunion in my face, oh lord… If anyone has advice for any speed up killer treatments are highly appreciated 🙂

How to get perfect skin with Home facials

How to get perfect skin

My new weekly beauty routine

– Home Facial

I’ve previously mentioned I have my particular routines. On thursdays It’s cleaning of the house & laundry so I don’t need to think about it during the weekend, and on sundays I do all my beauty stuff. However I’ve been cheating a bit with my beauty routines but now I’ve decided to get it back on track again. An add on will be a proper home made facial & steam once a week as my skin has seen better days in life – it’s a complete mess at the moment!

Home Facial

My new beauty routine (done every sunday evening before bed time):

My 5 step home Facial

  • Clean – Cleanse twice with face wash to remove all make up and excess products. Use hot water to open up the pores.
  • Exfoliate – Take your fingers and use a facial exfoliating scrub to really cleanse those pores. Don’t use to much pressure rubbing as the skin is very delicate, however give a little bit of extra rub in the problem areas of your face.
  • Steam – There are many ways to steam your face to open up your pores – my favorite is the traditional “heat up boiled water in a pot and dip your face above it covered with a cloth”. I usually leave it for 15 min but then again my pores are quite clogged so it’s very individual how long you should do it for.
  • Mask – Depending on your skin type and problem area, a clay mask is great if you have oily skin while a gel mask can hydrate your dry skin. I have acne prone skin and make my own miracle mask by crushing aspirin and mixing together with yoghurt or honey. After my skin feels smooth like a baby.
  • Hydrate – Last step of the facial is to apply a good amount of a hydrating moisturizer. Your skin will absorb it and just let it work it’s wonders.

As an add on to my beauty routine I also take the opportunity to tweeze & color my eye brows, remove any facial hair and bleach my teeth if I feel it’s getting time for that.
